Interview with Dr Nashila Farrah Jaffer

1. Why did you want to pursue a career as a chiropractor? Was this always what you wanted to do?

Actually no not at all...I had no idea what Chiropractic was! Fate had a role to play in my career and I have to say it is the best thing that ever happened to me. I feel I was destined to be a Chiropractor without really knowing what I was getting myself into. Initially I was all set to do Pharmacy in London as I knew I always wanted to help people and do something in healthcare. Everything changed at the last minute I ended up in Wales for 4 years studying to become a Chiropractor. At the time I was so young I didn't really know how much of an impact this would be on me as a person, but being a Chiropractor has really changed my life for the better in so many ways. I would say now, it's not what I do, it's who I am!

2. What was the biggest challenge you faced to get to where you are today?

Self-belief.....this has always been my biggest challenge. Having the confidence, self assurance and belief in myself that I really can fulfill my dreams. I have now been practicing for over 15 years and my personal growth and development over these years has been immense. I would say a lot has been down to people believing in me (even if I didn't), encouraging me and pushing me to do what I love....I have a lot of people to thank for that.

3. What piece of advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?

Do what you love with the right intention. If you are passionate about an idea that you truly believe in then don't let anything hold you back. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and support you. Believe in yourself! So cliche I know.....but it is so true. We have no idea how powerful the mind is.

4. What's the best part of being a chiropractor, or the best part of a normal day in your life?

The best part of being a Chiropractor is that every day you are given the chance to change someone's life, by helping improve their health and well-being, using only your hands. I am so thankful to be doing something so fulfilling day in and day out. For me, it's not a job anymore, it's a part of who I am and I feel it's my duty to help whoever comes to me. The quote "Choose a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life" is so true and I'm so lucky that Chiropractic chose me!
